CIMA/Austria (rolling paper production facility) - measures for energy savings

•  Renewed warehouse roof insulation

•  Capture heat from compressors, vacuum pumps and exhausts

•  Optimization of warehouse heating and air conditioning units leads to reduction of annual heating oil consumption by 20,000 liters

•  Separation of ventilation and warehouse lighting makes addition of chemicals in water treatment no longer necessary

•  Exchange of 16 vacuum pumps for 2 Roll Piston Blowers with governors saves 160 KW of electricity per 16 hours of production

GIZEH Raucherbedarf (headquarter; smokers‘ supplies)

•  Reduction of alcohol content in print colors (improvement of recycling capability).

•  Use of recyclable papers in some cuts

•  Vehicle pool exceeding 40 cars and transports fitted with latest environmental technology (all vehicles state certified for lowest exhaust/CO2 emissions)

•  Higher energy efficiency through use of GIZEH´s own gas turbine Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant (gas-generated power supply in conjunction with simultaneous use of heat exchange for heating purposes)

•  Recycling of print shop waste

•  Through usage of ecological regulations, connection to the main water supply is no longer necessary for rain water on our property. By special arrangement from the local governing water authority, rain water is now allowed to soak directly into the ground.
